Project summary
The problem
These openings did not have the wall clearance for a door to swing, and a bi-fold would have looked like a cupboard rather than a room divider.
What Gary did
Gary hung solid slab doors on exposed top track. The critical part is the header — the track has to be carried on something structural, dead level over the full travel, or the door creeps toward one end on its own.
The result
Doors that roll the whole opening under one finger and stop where they are put, with the strap hardware and grain doing the work visually.
Project photographs
Project location is not published because it has not been confirmed. Gary's photo archive spans more than one market and these images are not individually dated or geotagged, so no city is claimed for any single project.
