Project summary
The problem
Standard vertical dog-ear fencing is quick, but it dates a yard fast and does nothing for privacy once the boards cup and gap. These properties needed a boundary that actually looked designed.
What Gary did
Gary sets the posts, then runs the boards horizontally with a deliberate consistent reveal between each one. Getting a horizontal fence to look right depends almost entirely on the run staying level and the gaps staying identical over distance — that is the whole job.
The result
A clean modern boundary that reads as a single continuous plane, with the grain and colour variation of the redwood doing all the visual work.
Project photographs
Project location is not published because it has not been confirmed. Gary's photo archive spans more than one market and these images are not individually dated or geotagged, so no city is claimed for any single project.
