Most of Gary's work is the quick small jobs — the regular home repairs every house generates and nobody wants to make a project out of. A door that will not latch, a rail that has loosened, a fixture that needs swapping. He takes big jobs and small jobs.
The jobs that are too small for a contractor and too annoying to live with
There is a real gap in the market between a job a homeowner can do on a Saturday and a job worth a general contractor's minimum. Most repair work sits in that gap. Contractors are not being difficult when they decline it — mobilising for two hours of work does not pay, so the quote either comes back high or does not come back at all.
That gap is most of what Gary does. He is set up to arrive, work through a list, and leave — which is the only way this kind of work makes sense for either side.

Fixing the cause, not the symptom
A door that will not latch is usually not a door problem — it is a hinge that has pulled, or a frame that has moved, or a floor that has settled. Planing the door edge makes it close today and leaves a tapered gap forever.
This matters most on anything structural or weather-exposed. A soft deck board is a signal about what is underneath it. A fence panel that has dropped is a post telling you something. Replacing the visible part and stopping there means doing the same job again in a year, which is more expensive than doing it properly the first time.

Does Gary take small jobs?
Yes — the quick small jobs are most of what he does. Gary takes big jobs and small jobs, and the usual advice is to group several small ones into a single visit so it is one trip rather than several.
Is there a minimum job size?
Ask. Gary would rather hear what you actually need than have you guess whether it is worth calling about. If it is genuinely too small to be worth a trip on its own, the usual answer is to group it with the other things on your list.
Can I send a photo instead of describing it?
Yes — a photo is better than a description for almost every repair. Text it to 707-997-3086 with a sentence about what is wrong and Gary can usually tell you straight away whether it is something he takes on.
Do you handle several small repairs in one visit?
That is normally the most sensible way to do it. Grouping the list into one visit means one trip charge rather than several, and it is why most people call in the first place.
