The problem

There was no safe way into the attic. Cutting a new opening into a finished ceiling means working around joists you cannot move and wiring you must not cut — and then making the hole look intentional.

What Gary did

Gary opened the ceiling, framed the new opening between the existing joists, worked around the wiring already running through the bay, and trimmed the finished hatch so it sits flush and square in the ceiling line.

The result

Safe attic access where there was none, framed properly rather than cut, and finished so it reads as part of the ceiling.
