Project summary
The problem
Trim is where sloppy work is most visible, because the eye follows a long straight line and catches every gap in it. Older walls and floors are rarely straight enough to just cut square and nail on.
What Gary did
Gary scribes to the surface that is actually there rather than the one that should be, cuts the internal corners to fit and fills only what genuinely needs filling. A caulk line doing structural work is a repair that shows up again in a year.
The result
Continuous trim lines with tight corners and no shadow gaps against the floor.
