Project summary

The problem

The brief was not a shape or a size — it was an effect. The owner wanted a surface that looked like shallow ocean water meeting a beach.

What Gary did

Gary layered tinted resin in stages so the colour shifts from deep blue through turquoise into sand, then worked white into the leading edge while the pour was still live to hold the shape of breaking foam. The cured slab was flattened and polished to a full gloss.

The result

A table top that reads as moving water from across the room and holds up to close inspection, with the foam line frozen exactly where the wood edge falls.
